2 – New Mexico Community Survey

Hello Community, Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on all three counts. I know that many people waited for the verdict with stress and anxiety. Hopefully this is a step toward police accountability. At the end of the day many people called for due process for officers. Everyone deserves due process. When an armed government employee takes the life of a resident in the community, that community member no longer has due process. The anxiety that people have about making it home grows and is bad for our collective health. People worry about whether they will make it home from work, from shopping, jogging, and so many more situations. Let us continue to work toward a society that achieves health equity by being an equitable society. Balancing power is a huge part of that. Balancing the power of law enforcement with community is part of that. There are many challenges still ahead of us. Those wanting to celebrate today please do so. Be safe and vigilant, emotions are high. Please support the leadership of our Black/African/African American community.

At the same time today was announced that 3 million people have died from Covid 19 globally. We still have a way to go. Please continue to social distance and all other precautions as appropriate.

2 – New Mexico Community Survey

Just a reminder that the New Mexico Community Survey is happening right now and we would really appreciate your help to share this information with your community and networks.

The New Mexico Community Survey is an anonymous evaluation tool that collects data about substance use and mental health to inform our public health prevention strategies all over the state.  You have to be at least 18 to take the survey and everything is completely confidential.   It takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Please see the attached fliers in English and Spanish and feel free to post these on social media or share with others.  If you'd like to take the survey with your phone you can use the QR code or use this link:

Thank you so much and we really appreciate your help,

Kindly,

I wasn’t sure about putting the donation link at the top but I’m not sure how many people get to the bottom of the emails. 😊
