“My daughter has wanted to dance ballet since she was two year old. When she was 12, she attended Draper’s Summer Intensive.  Every day she came home more excited by dance.  By the end of the first week, she said, ‘Mom, I’ve learned more this week than I have in three years’!  We enrolled her for classes that September.  In our six years at Draper Center, I have learned what an outstanding school this is.”

Students learn to sing, dance and act through shared learning experiences; they gain confidence, learn to trust their abilities, and work as a team. Integrating the diversity of talent into an ensemble are cornerstones of the program. Email questions to: kmk...@gmail.com or tfsd...@hotmail.com.

Enroll in Preschool or Pre-K at The Goddard School® of Pittsford (Bushnell’s Basin)!

Now is a great time to register your child for preschool or pre-kindergarten!

Perseverance is the ability to overcome obstacles to achieve a goal, which is essential to children’s success in school and in life. In our preschool classroom, children develop this crucial trait by engaging in learning activities and sticking with them until they solve the problem or complete the project.

Young learners continue their journey of exploration and discovery in our pre-kindergarten classroom. Teachers help them apply their developing literacy and math skills through purposeful, planned learning experiences.

SummerWrite at Writers & Books

Every summer, Writers & Books offers half-day and full-day workshops for creative young readers and writers. Our programs support the basic reading and writing skills students learn in school, but they also reach further, tapping into creativity and inspiration, as young people learn to discover their own passions and develop their own voices. Our camps are led by experienced teaching artists, each of whom are accomplished writers, performers, and artists in their own right, who also have a talent for bringing out the best from creative young minds.

YMCA of Greater Rochester

Overnight, day or specialty camps at the Y share one thing: they’re about discovery. Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. And, of course, it’s fun too.

Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character, and making friends.  But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, bugle calls, canoeing, archery, talent shows, and meaningful relationships. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.

We have over 100 years of experience in providing a safe, thriving environment for young people to explore personal interests, build self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills, discover the creativity and health benefits of the outdoors, and make lasting friendships and memories.
