BM Student Liaison Application

QUALIFICATIONS: -Muslim graduate/undergraduate students enrolled at one of the following institutions for the 2012-2013 academic school year: UC Berkeley, Zaytuna College, or Berkeley Community College -Ability to work with people from all age groups, cultures, and backgrounds -Strong vision and initiative -Excellent communication skills -Organizing experience is a plus RESPONSIBILITIES: -To communicate with student leadership at Cal, Zaytuna and BCC to create a place for students at the masjid and to mobilize our large student populace in helping to run the day-to-day affairs of BM -To attend a weekly executive committee meeting -To dedicate an additional 2-5 hours per week to organize programs/fundraising efforts, and to help the masjid grow and develop in its infant stages Insha'Allah, we hope that expanding the role of the liaison to reach out to all 3 of these institutions will create more cohesion in the student community and create a larger and more diverse task force of students for the masjid.This position is a huge amanah (trust), but it affords one student a tremendous opportunity to gain organizing experience, to work with the larger Berkeley community, to forge a connection with the masjid, and to seek the ajr and pleasure of Allah SWT.
