1Tim 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
Here's a general principle of prayer worthy of note: When you pray, don't be angry with God. Paul notes of the people of Israel who in the exodus grumbled against God. "Do not grumble, as some of them did— and were killed by the destroying angel." 1Cor 10:10 They complained about food and water - and so God gave it to them. But because their attitude, God also sent them death. So in our prayers let us make known our needs and our requests, but let us not do so questioning God's goodness, righteousness, holiness or his judicial nature. For while God has willed that the fulfillment of certain legitimate needs are contingent upon our prayers, he has not ordained such out of neglect or a sense of reluctance, but rather to show that he values our relationship with him; and even a partner with him in his ministry.
