Fwd: More information about Speed Networking Event- please invite alums/friends

We haven't done much work with this so far. Mostly because there doesn't seem to be strong (or any really) in attending this event from our department. Now they are requesting money from us. What do you guys think? Personally, I don't think we should invest in an event that very few of our members will be attending (if any). Thoughts?

Hi dGSA presidents and friends who do professional development events,

I wanted to share our Speed Networking folder with you all to make sure you had access to all of the documents and information to make it easier to share this event with any alums or peers in your department.

If you have invited alums to previous events (i.e. Josh, Annicka, etc), please reach out to them if you think they would be interested in hearing about this event (sample email or sample flyer). We have about 10 alums so far from BioE, ECE, Chemistry, Physics, and Social Sciences.

Also included in that document are sample emails you can share directly with your department listsevs. Masters students, PhDs, and post-docs are invited to attend. I also invite you to attend via our facebook event page and share the link with students and alums.

We are also requesting $250 in support from each participating department or dGSA to help pay for food for the networking portion of the event. Please ask your chair or dGSA members if they are able to provide support. If so, please forward me the confirmation emails and let me know the fund and org numbers so I can have the proper documentation for concur reimbursement.
