Hi all,

I spoke with Anisha about this semester's volunteer event, and she has graciously offered to help me coordinate it :)

At our last meeting we mentioned doing it in November, close to Thanksgiving. However, Anisha pointed out that lots of people usually donate around this time, so perhaps our contribution would be even more helpful during a not-so-busy time?

Would we want to possibly look at doing the event late September/early October instead?

We also have some leftover supplies from last time that would still not be expired if we bumped the event up!

Let me know! (and some possible dates that would work around all the other GSA events!)

Thanks,

Alicia

Hey everyone,

This sounds like a great idea! Just briefly perusing the calendar, it looks like the first week of October would be a good bet to this going.

Thanks for organizing Alicia and Anisha!

Best,
-Thomas

From 9/25 to 10/16 the only events we have (as far as I know) are
Journal clubs on the 1st and 15th so that would be a good time :)

Hi Anisha,

I was thinking the week of October 4-10. I like your logic for making Tuesday the choice! Let's roll with it!

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Best,
-Thomas

Hi Tom,

First week as in October 4 - 10? Or the week prior? The first years give their rotation talks on Thursday and Friday during the week of October 4th so maybe Tuesday would be a good day. That way they still have Wednesday as a buffer. Thoughts?

Best wishes,

Anisha

I was also thinking either Monday Oct 5 (maybe right after 581?) or Tuesday Oct 6th!

Wednesday will be my birthday so I prefer not to do it that day :P

Once we finalize either Mon 10/5 or Tues 10/6,  we can get it on the calendar and I can get with Anisha to make sure we get all the supplies and send out announcements.

Thanks,

Alicia

I prefer Tuesday evening myself. Monday after 581 might be hard because people will probably have experiments and other activities to do during normal work hours.

Just my two cents,
-Thomas

Sounds good!

We will do Tuesday October 6th! What time? 5pm or 6pm?

And how do we get it put on the google calendar?

Thanks,

Alicia

I'm going to email Angel with all the events we need on the calendar so I can include this event on the list :)

Awesome! And if we're still thinking about time, I prefer 6 pm. That way people* can have time to finish their exp/work for the day!

*Except for freakin' Joey who starts transformations at like 8 pm
