discussion.
A big upper ridge covers the gulf of Alaska with a northerly flow
over the coast. The ridge supports a 1040 mb arctic surface high
centered over the central yukon. This high centre will move to
north-central BC by Thursday afternoon. The arctic front extends
from near rosespit on the queen Charlottes to vicinty bella coola -
southeastwards. Overnight the central and southern portions will
push out to queen charlotte Sound on the central coast and strait of
georgia in the south. Cloud associated with the front May generate
some isolated light flurries over eastern slopes tonight. Otherwise
conditions will be mainly clear and cold with strong surface outflow
winds through the inlets and valleys.

Freezing level..surface central and north coasts. In the south near
1400 metres coast to 1000 metres inland lowering to 600 metres coast
and surface inland overnight and Thursday.

Extended outlook.
On Friday the surface high will move to central sask and the upper
high will drift eastward allowing overrunning cloud on the next
series of fronts to reach the coast in the evening and precipitation
to spread onto the coast overnight. On sat the upper high will move
inland bringing a mild southwest flow over the coast with rising
freezing levels and significant precipitation. The front will move
inland early sun leaving the coast under an unstable showery and
somewhat cooler pattern again.

tonight Monday and Tuesday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 5 AM Monday.

Synopsis for coastal BC.
Moderate to heavy rain will ease this evening across the south
coast as a frontal system moves inland. On Monday showers will
