WESTJET & BOMBARDIER - SO MANY CRASHES OF BOMBARDIER Q400 REPORTED
Will Westjet Also Have Crashes ?
Now, Westjet passengers on shorthaul flights will have to worry - will they
arrive alive, or in a body bag if the plane crashes as so many other crashes ?
Why did Westjet not order a more reliable, safer aircraft from the US, Europe
or Embraer ?
VERY BAD DECISION BY WESTJET MANAGERS, JUST TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT WITH
QUEBEC.

WestJet chooses Bombardier Q400 for new regional airline
By Mario Toneguzzi, Calgary Herald,

CALGARY WestJet announced Tuesday it has selected Montreal-based Bombardier
Inc. to supply aircraft for its new regional airline, expected to launch in
the second half of 2013.
The airline will fly the Bombardier Q400 NextGen to new cities, existing
destinations not currently connected by WestJet, and will allow for schedule
improvements on certain routes where a smaller aircraft can efficiently
provide greater frequency, said WestJet.
“We are very impressed with the Q400,” said Gregg Saretsky, WestJet’s
president and chief executive, in a statement. “Both ATR and Bombardier put
forward excellent proposals and ultimately we believe the Bombardier Q400’s
combination of range, speed and seat density is the best choice to meet the
needs of the market and how we plan to operate the regional airline.”
Mike Arcamone, president of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, said the Q400
NextGen aircraft “has long been recognized as the turboprop best suited to
perform in the robust Canadian and U.S. landscape and environments.”
WestJet has signed a letter of intent to purchase 20 Q400s with the option to
purchase a further 25 aircraft. The airline expects to announce its initial
regional schedule using the Q400s later in 2012.
Also on Tuesday, WestJet reported a record for first quarter net earnings.
The company said net earnings in its first quarter were $68.3 million, up 41.6
per cent from last year.
Diluted earnings per share were 49 cents, up 44.1 per cent.
This represents WestJet’s 28th consecutive quarter of profitability.
Total revenue was up 15.3 per cent to $891 million. The company also said its
load factor in the first quarter was 83 per cent, a one per cent increase from
a year ago. Available seat miles rose by 8.8 per cent and revenue passenger
miles were up 10.0 per cent.
“We are extremely pleased with the record first quarter results and our margin
expansion as revenue growth outpaced elevated fuel costs. We achieved our
highest first quarter load factor, improved the overall yield and made good
progress towards our return on invested capital target,” said Saretsky.
“Revenue growth exceeded our expectations this quarter and contributions to
the top-line increase are coming from the ongoing improvement in our business
offering, our airline partnership strategy, the strength of WestJet Vacations
and increases in ancillary revenue.”

Emirates orders 82 Airbus planes
The latest Emirates deal is worth more than $20bn for Airbus
Emirates has ordered 82 Airbus jets, in a deal worth more than $20bn
(£9.6bn) for the European plane-maker.
The Dubai-based airline is buying 70 of Airbus' mid-sized A350 model,
and 11 Airbus A380 twin-deck super jumbos.
Announced at the start of the Dubai air show, Emirates said the new
planes would play "an important role" in the growth of both the
airline and Dubai.
Emirates added that it also had the option to purchase a further 50
A350 aircraft at a future date.
Rolls-Royce deal
If this additional order goes ahead, the final deal will be worth
about $32bn for Airbus.
Emirates airlines is placing great faith in our A350 XWB and A380
programmes as well as our company and we are rightfully proud
Airbus boss Tom Enders
The latest contract win for Airbus was also good news for British
engine-maker Rolls-Royce, as Emirates has chosen its units to power
the new planes.
It will be worth up to $8.4bn for Rolls-Royce if Emirates does go on
to buy the additional 50 A350 planes.
"Emirates airlines is placing great faith in our A350 XWB and A380
programmes as well as our company and we are rightfully proud," said
Airbus president and chief executive Tom Enders.
The order is welcome good news for Airbus parent group EADS.
Last week EADS warned it may have to deepen planned restructuring and
job cuts after its losses for the July to September period worsened to
775m euros ($1.14bn; £541m), compared with 189m euros last year.
It already plans to cut 10,000 jobs at Airbus over the next four
years.
Airbus designs and makes its wings in the UK.

Watch the filthy Christkillers and their disgusting shabbas-goy refuse to
answer the facts in the article.
Notice how parasitic criminals including diseased AIDS-spreaders,
drug dealers and child molesters, and Madoff type swindlers,
all refuse to answer facts detailed.
In fact, these subhumans are obsessed with excrement and anal orifices.
They are so delusional, from using illegal drugs and AIDS,
that whenever they see an article which they dislike, they blame
it on a grosvenor.
So, these vermin forge and fabricate articles, claiming that a nemesis happily
retired in muslim S. Philippines is haunting them.
