I doubt anyone reads this newsgroup anymore, but I'll try anyway.

My 15 year old Bernoulli Gore-Tex jacket from MEC is finally worn out. I
got a lot of good, heavy use out of it. If MEC still made it I'd buy
another one in a heartbeat. But they're long gone.

I don't like a lot of the current offerings of cycling jackets. They
look too heavy, to bulky, and appear to have inadequate ventilation (no
armpit zippers) and I can imagine overheating in them. I have tried some
of the fabrics (Entrant et al) on other clothing and I still prefer good
old real Gore-Tex.

I can't find any Gore-Tex cycling jackets in Vancouver anymore. Can
anyone help?

Tried some on. Didn't like. Little to no venting. I'd get too hot.

I finally found one I like from the Taiga store. Gore-Tex Pro shell
(Gore's best), big pit zips, big vent at the back. Snap off hood, lots
of featues. I love it. It's the shiznit. Cost $300 but well worth it.
