Hi BC Cycling,
My name is Andrew Armstrong and I raced with BC cycling from 2002-2005 during my undergrad days at BC. While with the team I served as team treasurer, race trip planner/organizer, and as the BC rep on the Beanpot race committee. I even chaired the Beanpot committee my senior year.
Anyways.....I am currently running for one of two open spots on the Collegiate Cycling Board of Trustees and I would greatly appreciate your support and your vote. I believe I have a breadth of experience to bring to the table and am eager to help collegiate cycling continue growing, expanding, and improving. You can read my 'official' statement which includes some of my previous experiences and qualifications as well as a bit about my vision for collegiate cycling
here. I am one of only two people running that has experience in the ECCC and you can vote for two people so that works out perfectly for BC cycling. I am also the only one with ANY ties to BC or BC cycling ;-)
Voting runs
until Saturday August 15th. Anyone who currently holds a 2009 USAC collegiate (NCCA) license is eligible to vote for two candidates in the NCCA board of trustees election. (so
even if you graduated in May, if you had a license last spring you can vote now) There are five of us running and only two open board positions so I would greatly appreciate your support. Serving on the board is a volunteer capacity so I'm not asking you to vote me into some cushy job or anything I simply want to try to help grow the sport and I am convinced collegiate cycling is the best and most effective thing USA Cycling has in terms of development and growing the sport.
You can find out more about the election and the other candidates by going
here. You can vote by going to your "My USA Cycling" page. Remember voting ends on this upcoming Saturday August 15th and I assure you every vote counts in this type of election so please vote now.
Please feel free to e-mail me (
aparm...@gmail.com) with any concerns or questions. Thank you for your time and hopefully thank you for your vote.
Sincerely, Andrew Armstrong BC '05
