404 page not found

Hi BCDA team,

I’m seeing a 404 “page not found” error when requesting adjudicated-claims exports.

It first appeared last night as:
requests.exceptions.HTTPError: 404 Client Error: Not Found for url: https://api.bcda.cms.gov/api/v2/jobs/{job_id}
This morning, when I reran the job, the same request returned a plain “404 page not found” response.

I’ve also noticed that visiting https://api.bcda.cms.gov/ directly shows the same 404 page.

Could you share any information on what might be causing this and advise on anything I should check or adjust on my side?

Hi Samuel,

Sorry for the issues reaching the BCDA website and checking the job status. Please try replacing "{job_id}" in your request with the job ID returned by BCDA in the Content-Location header of your /Group or /Patient $export request. Here is an example using "42" as the job ID:

GET https://api.bcda.cms.gov/api/v2/jobs/42

If you continue to see the 404 response after making this change, please reach out to us over email at bc...@cms.hhs.gov with your organization's Entity ID and the job ID of the job that you want to check the status of.

For more information on checking job status and finding your job's ID, see our guide on How to Access Claims Data. Note that our website is located at https://bcda.cms.gov; you won't be able to reach it using the URL "api.bcda.cms.gov" which may explain the 404 page you were seeing.
