Welcome to the Beneficiary Claims Data API developer Google Group! We hope you will take advantage of this space to learn from each other about how to make best use of the Beneficiary Claims Data API, and support each other in your work. Community managers from CMS and its partner organizations are available to answer technical questions about the API and will endeavor to answer your questions within 72 hours of posting. We encourage all members to help each other out, too, and share what you've learned and done.

Since we're all humans interacting in online space, here are a few ground rules:

  • We follow Norm Kerth's "prime directive": "Regardless of what we discover, we understand and truly believe that everyone did the best job they could, given what was known at the time, their skills and abilities, the resources available, and the situation at hand.” All Google Group participants should assume good faith on the part of all other participants, and bear in mind that this is a space for learning and exploration in service of better health care for Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Community managers reserve the right to remove posts deemed to be off-topic or hurtful to other participants.
  • If community managers cannot answer a question, or if a question relates to CMS policy, they will attempt to find a relevant party who can provide an answer or resolution. In these cases, an answer may take longer than 3 days to arrive.
  • Do not post PII or PHI to this group under any circumstances. For more information, view the pinned post on PII and PHI. When in doubt, leave it out.

Hello BCDA community,

We're thrilled to see so many new and active community members as BCDA continues to implement major and exciting updates!

We want to make sure that this Google Group remains a place where we can freely ask questions, and give and receive help and support from the BCDA team and each other. To that end, this is your periodic reminder of our Code of Conduct – how we can expect each other to interact with mutual respect, patience, and kindness.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

BCDA GOOGLE GROUP CODE OF CONDUCT:

Since we're all humans interacting in online space, here are a few ground rules:

(1) We follow Norm Kerth's "prime directive": "Regardless of what we discover, we understand and truly believe that everyone did the best job they could, given what was known at the time, their skills and abilities, the resources available, and the situation at hand.” All Google Group participants should assume good faith on the part of all other participants, and bear in mind that this is a space for learning and exploration in service of better health care for Medicare beneficiaries.

(2) Community managers reserve the right to remove posts deemed to be off-topic or hurtful to other participants.

(3) We strive to answer your questions within 72 hours of posting. But if community managers cannot answer a question, or if a question relates to CMS policy, we will attempt to find a relevant party who can provide an answer or resolution. In these cases, an answer may take longer than 3 days to arrive.

(4) Do not post PII or PHI to this group under any circumstances. For more information, view the pinned post on PII and PHI. When in doubt, leave it out. **Additionally, we request that – in the case of individual emails and direct troubleshooting – you refrain from sending PII and PHI unless requested to by the BCDA Team.

Again, if there are any questions, please reach out!

All my best,
Liani
