Input on BETOS codes for BCDA v3

We're deciding how to represent Berenson-Eggers Type of Service (BETOS) classification codes in BCDA version 3 (v3). We'd like to know if/how you use this code system.

CCLF5 files include BETOS codes as HCPCS_BETOS_CD. However, an updated classification system, the Restructured BETOS Classification System (RBCS) is available. Our questions:

• How do you use BETOS codes in claims data processing today?
• If you are using these codes, do you use the original (BETOS) or restructured (RBCS) codes?

There are no planned changes to the availability of BETOS codes in BCDA v1 or v2.
