Hi BCDA Team,
We have identified an issue in BCDA v3 related to mapping the patient MBI ID to the Claims table.
Could you please confirm whether the patient reference on the Claims resource is expected to differ from the patient reference provided in the EOB resource?
In BCDA v2, we were able to match these references and obtain the beneficiary MBI ID.
Thank you!
Avinash Kumar
Hi Avinash,
Thanks for the question about patient identifiers in BCDA v2 Claim resources and BCDA v3 Patient resources.
In BCDA v3, the FHIR ID (Patient.id, ExplanationOfBenefit.id, Coverage.id) for a given resource will not match the v2 FHIR resource ID. The patient ID contained in Claim resources from BCDA v2 will not match the Patient.id of Patient resources from BCDA v3.
Please review our v3 migration guidance for more details on matching Patient resources across versions using Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers (MBIs).
Thanks,
The BCDA Team
