Although nearly all of the staff are unpaid volunteers, operating expenses
for WUVT are high. The equipment-heavy nature of radio, the paperwork
involved in meeting FCC regulations, and the need for new music drains the
financial resources of the station. Radiothon, WUVT's fund raiser, helps
alleviate the financial burden. Past Radiothons have helped WUVT to remain
on the air and continue the tradition of playing the most diverse and
cutting edge music in the New River Valley for over 50 years.
