The reset notification is to get rid of the flashing red light if it will not stop for you.
The other reset is for testing and tells bbtweet to retrieve some updates it already did in order to test retrieval.

When you have the issue where updates stop do you notice if the letters (1X, EVDO, etc.) go to lower case?

Every few days I run into a problem where bbtweet can't connect and
stops updating. A soft reset has been my method for getting bbtweet
to get back on track. Can anyone explain the 2 resets available in
the About menu?

I'm using the SVN version of bbtweet on an 8900.

Thanks,
Chad

At home I use a UMA connection, which sometimes proves unreliable, so I would guess that they do stop when I lose a connection.  It's been some time since the last downtime, I'll try to get a better grip on when this happens.

OK. I live in a Michigan low signal area. Often when bbtweet is not
getting updates I can't use the web browser or use any other services
that require data though other services, such as text messaging still
work.

One feature request we're looking into involves failing over to SMS
when data is not available.

Jason,

Just noticed I wasn't getting updates, here is the message I got:

Update Retrieval: Update: net.rim.device.api.io.ConnectionClosedException: Connection closed

What's the best way to get it up and running again?

Still trying to determine the cause of your inability to connect...

What do you see when you go into the screen where you can turn the radio and bluetooth on/off and select 'service status'? Do any of the services say 'disconnected'?
