Hello,

I haven't installed bbtweet but am considering it. Does bbtweet
always need to run in the background to retrieve updates and for the
notifications to work? Also, is there a visual indication of updates,
similar to the red star on e-mail folders?

Thanks

Dave

bbtweet has a background process that manages all connections. It sits
idle when there isn't any work to be done. We're working towards
better thread management in future versions (shutting down the
connection manager if you have bbtweet disabled, etc.)

The primary objective initially was to deliver friends timeline
updates to the phone in a way very similar to SMS text messaging but
using data services instead of SMS. This is currently working. At an
interval you specify, bbtweet will retrieve your friends timeline and
deliver the status updates as individual messages in the BlackBerry
single message view. You can also send a status update by clicking on
the application (currently sending status updates is very similar to
functionality in TwitterBerry and other BlackBerry Twitter apps).

bbtweet is in active development. You can install the latest stable
release by pointing your device here http://tinyurl.com/bbtweet0-2 and
downloading over the air. It is easy to uninstall if you decide you
don't like it and we'd appreciate your feedback. Be sure to take the
survey at http://tinyurl.com/bbtask when you've had a chance to try it
out and thank-you for your interest!
