Hello everybody,
The monthly expense report is attached and the expense sheet for 2021 has been updated at -  Ongoing_Expenses - Google Sheets.

Do have a look at the content and all corrections/comments are welcome.

My understanding of the monthly recurring obligated expenses based on recent whatsapp messages and the expense sheet's content is listed below (do correct/add if I missed any):
 - Doddveranna's salary - 6K per month
 - Fuel for Doddveranna's TVS - ??
 - Basvangowda's salary - 1 lakh per year/8,334 per month (Paid until July 2021) + 100KG jowar + 100 KG rice
 - Basvangowda family groceries - ?? (we have paid 2250/- for groceries in the month of April itself!)
 - Mahadevamma's salary - 4K per month
 - Gas cylinders for both homes - 850/- per month (each cylinder comes for two months)
 - Animal feed (Chicken/Cat/Cow/Dog) - ?? (my estimate is around 1500/- per month)
 - Agriculture expenses (ploughing/seeds/saplings/hired labor/storage for produce) - ?? (my estimate is around 8K per month)
 - Farm expenses (all repairs/tools/legal/fencing/farm ponds/electricity bills etc) - ?? (my estimate is around 8K per month)

These add up to around 38k per month which is in range of our 5k contribution per month each.

It would be really helpful if each one of you comment on this list with estimates. I've indicated my estimates based on past data. We can then concur on a viable monthly expense and keep that as a target going forward. Thanks.

Cheers,
Sandy

Sandy,

The estimation of 40K per month on average looks OK to me. Few points:
1. Doddaveeranna's salary is 10K per month, but since he has a loan, we are deducting the loan amount and giving only 5K for now.
2. Fuel for TVS is provided only for BBT work and not for personal use.
3. Agri and other farm expenses are seasonal. OK with considering on average 8K + 8K per month. Ex: Last three months in summer we did not spend on ploughing, FYM or seeds.
4. Basvangowda family groceries should be considered as expenses towards labour food or our food expenses. Grocery agreed is only 100 kg rice + 100 kg jowar.

It is better if we have a breakup of the expenses item wise additional to the consolidated expense sheet. Let me add a sheet in BBT expenses to track separately the cost of growing crops, tree planting, fencing and any such unique items.

Regards,
Praveen

Thanks BC. I think tracking is not the need here but budgeting. If we realise we have overshot after tracking, it doesn't serve any purpose :-)
So it is better if we fix an amount per month for DoddveraNNa's TVS fuel and Basvangowda family's groceries and have clear explanations on exceptions. Thoughts?

Cheers,
Sandy

Yes, I agree.

1. If Doddaveerana has to go to get seeds or feed or if he has to take Basvangowda for ration shop,... that's when he demands petrol cost. Let us keep it ₹ 300 per month.

2. Groceries --- difficult to plan this. But labourers food cost can be considered at 50 Rs per day. So if we take around 10 person labour per month, then it is 500 rs. Additionally if we all put together end up having 10 meals in month, it is another 500. So better to consider 1000 rs per month.
