Dearest friends and music-lovers,
In November and December, we'll be diving deep into the gorgeous songs of Magyarbőd, a village at the northern edge of the Hungarian language area, in Slovakia. These songs are famous for their sparkly fleeting harmonies and as accompaniment for
karikázó circle dances, as you can see in the photo above. As we're focused on the songs themselves, both dancers and non-dancers are welcome to join us, and as always no previous experience or Hungarian language knowledge is required. For the online
groups, we will have various guest teachers joining us to demonstrate the harmonies, and you can join by yourself or with a singing partner.
If you'd like join this singing class series, please sign
up ASAP!
Autumn greetings to all,
Zina

3) New Class Time
If you would like to participate in our singing classes, but the current class times don't work for you, we are exploring two options:
-
New live interactive class time, like the groups above:
We know that especially those in North America have long wanted other class times to choose from (different days, later in the day, weekend). Please fill out this
poll by
this Saturday to help us choose the best new time for the most people.
-
Recorded class option:
Another option is recording teaching each week's materials for you to watch at a time that works for you. The idea is for participants to be actively engaged in the same class series week by week as the other groups, and then have a live private lesson
at the end to go over the songs together. Reply to this email directly by this Saturday if you are interested in participating this way.
We always welcome other ideas as well.
