at Ashkenaz, Wednesday, October 8th, 7 to 10 pm.
This month’s Balkan Folk Dancing on Wednesdays will be a special treat: Folk Dance Party to Live Music with Orkestar Unbound!
Orkestar Unbound will also be playing at Kolo Festival (Nov 28-30) and to get you in the Balkan swing, Kolo Festival is covering the cost of the band playing at Ashkenaz on October 8th. Thank you Kolo Festival! (https://kolofestival.org/)
Orkestar Unbound serves up a heady stew of energetic and soulful dances from the Balkans (Macedonia, Bulgaria, the Romani, Greece, Albania, etc.), and beyond!
The Bay-Area favorite band includes:
Bill Cope: gajda, bouzouki, tambura, accordion,
Yağmur Alı Coşkun: Turkish saz, tambura & guitar
Dan Auvil: percussion.
Teaching for all levels by Nadav Nur and Susie Shoaf, 7 to 730 pm, Dancing 730 to 10 pm.
