Community Folk Dance prior to performance by BYU ensemble

When the BYU ensemble performed at the Barclay Theatre in Irvine, CA I coordinated with the theatre staff and BYU to hold a community dance in the open space outside theatre entrance.  There was no charge for participation Sans Frontiéres played for dancing.  The community dance was advertised by the theatre in their monthly emailed bulletin. (We included a statement that the outdoor dancing would take place, weather permitting.)   Folks who arrived early for the event and folks passing by were invited to dance along with Orange County folkdancers.  Some danced; others watched.  The theater staff was quite pleased with the event.

I suggest that FDF consider also organizing community dancing prior to BYU performance.
