Some of Joyce's favorite tunes...

[Will Cope]

Greetings and salutations my dear friends,

I have the honor and privilege of playing a few of Joyce's favorite Bitov tunes at Ashkenaz on the 27th, and will be playing the following from the center of the floor, because the "center of the village" is where I always prefer to play and in this case, also to give the organizers time to change bands on the main stage.

I think it might be problematic for others to jam on-site, but it has worked well for other events shared over Zoom, so here's my plan:

1) Makamlijshko Thracian Pravo: pg 29

2) Dajchovo Horo: pg 8, Joyce liked to call it the Lyrical Dajchovo

3) Silitrenska Tropanka: pg 35

4) Godfather's ruchenitsa (Thracian speed, then Sop speed): pg 33

5) Kopanitsa: pg 25

6) Ako Umram lesnoto, working on a new chart, will have it out early next week with the help of Petar Alexsiev - Usmivkata

Page numbers are so that anyone who wants to play along over Zoom can find the music in the Bitov booklet on this page:

For those that would like to jam prior to that, please join me on Saturday the 26th 10-11am pacific time for a Zoomshop (to be clear, this is not the Zoom link to use on Sunday):

Greetings & salutations,

I put together a small booklet in set list order to make it easier for those of you who would like to play along over Zoom tomorrow.

See you at 10am pacific time, this morning, if you'd like to run through them.

Based on this morning's session, I needed to update the unusual sequences we need to do to fit in our 25 minute slot, and also very much appreciate permission to use the Joyce-ful page as a cover page.

All the best, my dear friends, see and Z you tomorrow,

-Will
