Happy Tuesday, everyone. Trio LunAy (our trio) will be performing again on May 3rd at the Monkey House in Berkeley. Here is the link to the Facebook event.
Eastern European night at the Monkey House! Doors open at 7:00. Show up early as it only seats 45 people. Cash and Venmo accepted only. BYOB.
Trio LunAy:
Zina Pozen, Jonnie Pekelny, and Lee Corbie-Wells are local musicians and singers. Hailing originally from Ukraine, Russia, and San Francisco, they share a love of Eastern European music. The trio focuses mostly on folk and pop songs from Ukraine and Russia,
with occasional Romani, Gaelic, and Yiddish thrown in.
Resting Klezmer Face:
Resting Klezmer Face plays Klezmer music loaded with rich improvisations, standard tunes with energized original lyrics, and anything else that strikes our fancy! Ethereal vocals, wild solos, likely some laughter. We're just getting started and we're so excited
for our debut at the Monkey House! We hope you dance, we hope you smile. We love this music and we love sharing it and keeping it alive.
Darina Drapkin - vocals, ukulele
Sharon Mitchell - viola
Connie Walkershaw - soprano saxophone
Sasha Waniewski - accordion
