On the 5th day of Winter Solstice, my true love gave to me:   

¡5 NYKELHARPAS!….4 Flat Fiddles, 3 singing huldras, 2 säckpipas and a hardingfele & a piano!!
(All huldras, please bring your tails!)

Can you help?  
  • Bring festive holiday decorations (Scandinavian or other) to decorate our dessert table, etc.
  • Arrive at 3:40 pm if you can to help set-up tables, chairs and holiday lights/decorations

Winter Solstice & Holiday Scandia Dance
3rd Sunday Workshop, Party and Festive Potluck, El Cerrito
Dec. 21, 4:00 - 10:00 pm

Come watch the sun set over the bay on the shortest day & celebrate the coming of more light!  Let’s celebrate community, friendships, and mutual love of Scandia music and dance together.

"Festive dress" or folk costumes welcome but optional.  
We'll start the dance party with an elegant "GRAND MARCH” led by Ginny & Barry.

Review: To Ting (video)(Denmark - “Two Things") - Beginning/Intermediate level with two parts:  Waltz (3/4) and fast Snoa-like pivot turn (2/4)

Review:  Tuluttooq (video) - (Greenland) Fun beginning/Intermediate level dance that we’ll modify to dance as a mixer.


6:00-6:45 pm:  End of Year Potluck Dinner - Please bring a special dish to share!  Yum Yum!

6:45pm:  Grand March - led by Ginny Lee & Barry Moore

7:00-10:00 pm:  Dance Party
