This October - May monthly series celebrates The Joy of Jewish Music and Dance!
Ilya Shneyveys and Sarah Myerson, based in Brooklyn, are delightful and have a deep well of klezmer and Yiddish music and dance, which they travel the world to perform and teach. Between the two of them they play accordion, poyk, drumkit, guitar, ukulele,
as well as all manner of string and wind instruments. They sing in Yiddish, Ukrainian, and Hebrew. They have performed and recorded with many of the (other) klezmer greats from around the world. Catch them while they are here!
During the first two hours choose between instrumental klezmer music (taught
by Ilya) and Yiddish dance (taught by Sarah). Then participants break for snacks and come back together to share what they’ve learned in a fun dance party setting.
The series is great for musicians, dancers, singers, and enthusiasts to meet,
learn, play, shmooze, or simply to take in the beauty of these rich traditions. Bring your instruments and dancing shoes!

In their first tour in the United States, Zoë Aqua and her Transylvanian String Band
will bring an energetic, powerful and deeply unique program to American audiences. Zoë’s compositions are an outgrowth of her background in klezmer and Yiddish music. Arranged in collaboration with her bandmates, the resulting sound features the raw power
and deep rhythmic groove of Transylvanian string band music.
