Bay Area Scandia Dance Community,

This Sunday's El Cerrito Dance Party - Featured Guest Musician: 
Meet Thea Tunås Bratteng, Hardingfele player from Ål, Hallingdal in Norway
Thea is returning to Norway in May, and has offered to play for this Sunday’s El Cerrito Dance Party.  She is an award-winning fiddler from Hallingdal.  She also plays nyckelharpa!
Please come…and bring friends!  (See Bio below)


Bio:
Thea Tunås Bratteng is a Norwegian musician and award-winning fiddle player with roots in the folk music traditions of Hallingdal. She grew up in Ål, in Hallingdal, and began playing the fiddle at the age of seven under the instruction of Jens A. Myro in Ål.

Since then, Thea has developed into a versatile and sought-after fiddler across various genres. She has trained with traditional folk music masters from different parts of the country.

Thea Tunås Bratteng has distinguished herself as a lyrical fiddler with a crystal-clear tone, strong expressiveness, and a great sense of drive in her music. She also plays the Swedish instrument Nyckelharpa"

4:00-5:30 pm:  Workshop:  Review/practice of Scandomania dances:   Malungspolska & Orsa Polska  
(please rsvp if you plan to attend workshop)
5:30-6:30 pm:  Potluck - Please bring a favorite dish to share
