Square Dance and Pocket Opera Return Thus Weekend
The Hillside Club

Tonight

Thurs. April 16th, 2026 at 7:30pm
Hillside Echoes presents Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini

Contemporary Brazilian music incorporating personal perspectives with traditional folk sounds.

Doors open at 7:00pm
Performance begins at 7:30pm

Describing the musical partnership of Natalie Cressman and Ian Faquini as a duo is accurate, but their collaboration contains multitudes. She’s a trombonist, vocalist and songwriter from San Francisco. He’s a composer, guitarist, and singer from Brasilia. Together they’ve honed a singularly expansive creative communion encompassing their love of the Brazilian songbook, jazz, Impressionism and sophisticated pop songcraft.

Their latest album, Revolução (released September 2025 on GroundUP Music) is a meditation on the rituals, emotions and behaviors our lives habitually revolve around. Love, loss, relationships, and other whimsical qualities of our human nature unfold like pages of a colorful but well-worn graphic novel.

Wine Tasting: Guess the Red? A selection of reds to test your palate, don't there won't be a quiz at the end.

General Admission: $35
Club Members: $30

We have a very interesting lineup pairing newly released wines with wines that have been aged about 15-years in our cellar. The pairings will be Ridge Zinfandel, Dehlinger Pinot Noir, and Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. A rare opportunity not to be missed.

We will be running this tasting in a Guess the Red format. Unlike our usual tasting format where we taste the wines and then reveal them, we will hand out the tasting list at the start of the event and everyone will try to match the numbered bottles to the six wines listed in the tasting notes.

Advanced signup is required. If interested, please sign up by sending us email at wine...@neophilic.com.

Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 at 7:30pm - Hillside Echoes presents Colin Cotter & Sumaia Jackson and Friends

Original tunes and songs along with music from the Celtic & American folk traditions.

Longtime Celtic-Americana duo, Colin Cotter (vox / guitar) and Sumaia Jackson (5-string fiddle) are joined by Tristan Clarridge (cello) and Anna Colliton (bodhrán), two of the finest musicians one could hope to encounter whose creative instincts and powerful groove together are an undeniable force.

Doors Open at 7:00pm
Event starts at 7:30pm

The group will be performing Sumaia’s original tunes, Colin’s original songs, and music from the Celtic & American folk traditions, taking you on quite a journey as they shift from blazing fiddle tunes one moment to beautiful ballads with silky 3-part vocal harmony the next, pull off tightly arranged, technical pieces and let loose with improvised solos and spontaneously crafted arrangements. This is “California Celtic” at its best - appreciative of and unmistakably tied to old traditions with deep roots, but not afraid to get weird with it while sharing the joy of organic interplay between musicians openly expressing in the moment.

Students and Seniors:
 $20 ($23.18 including online fees)
