Dear Friends of Joyce Clyde,

“GATHERING of JOYCE’S TRIBE”
AUGUST 23, Sunday - 1:00pm to 7:30pm

Dear Friends & Family of Joyce’s Tribe,
Thank you for rsvp’ing for tomorrow's informal gathering and tribute to our dear friend, sister and wife, Joyce Clyde. Her community reach is far and wide! We look forward to sharing the day with all of you. Please bring something to offer, if you can, to help make the gathering memorable. Stories and memories will be the easiest to bring. But we also welcome music (instruments and/or song), dances, poems, funny recollections, photos and more. We will have a display table/altar set up, and if there is any little item that you would love to place on the table that has special meaning for your relationship with Joyce, please bring. We will all dearly miss Joyce and will celebrate together our good fortune to have known her!
Regarding Food & Drinks: Please bring something to offer for the potluck. If you can list ingredients on a small card to alert folks with dietary restrictions, that would be most appreciated. We will provide tea, coffee and cold lemon water for drinks (plus). If folks want to bring wine, beer or other alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, that would be welcome.
WHAT: “GATHERING of JOYCE’S TRIBE” - a pre-event informal “open house”; come when you can, leave when you need to! For Family, Friends, Co-workers, Fellow Dancers & Musicians. A flowing spontaneity of community sharing, grieving and celebrating our dear friend Joyce Clyde. It will be what we make it. Bring stories, music, songs, poems, laughter. Spontaneous heartfelt dancing will be sure to happen. All welcome. Joyce’s sister, and their best childhood friend, “sister Suzie” are coming in the afternoon. Can’t attend the big JOYCE-FUL CELEBRATION? This is another chance to pay tribute to Joyce in community. (No Zoom options)
Please bring a potluck dish or treat to share.
WHERE: Toby & Fred’s Home, 1925 Hudson St., El Cerrito (One block from Joyce’s Home)

For those who may be wondering about public transit options - the location is about a 15 minute walk (uphill) from the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station.Ruth K.

I should have done this earlier, and maybe it's really too late, but I was wondering about carpools. A lot of people will be moving around the bay tomorrow. I'm in the south bay, in Sunnyvale. If a lot of us were interested, we could meet at a large parking lot near the end of 237 (i.e. Grant Rd and El Camino).Any takers? Reduce our carbon footprint, limit parkingI guess write just to me, not the group, so the non south bay people don't have to hassle with it. Write if you want to do some other version of carpool, as well. If there's not a ton of people, we can meet at the driver's house.Elizabeth Gioumousis
