Back by Popular Demand: Sampler Tickets
Once again, we are offering special “Sampler Tickets” for people who are new to NEFFA or who just want to shop and spectate for a few hours. Sampler tickets, which cost $10 each (ages 8 and under free), can be purchased for Saturday April 26 from 11am-4pm, and/or Sunday 10am to 5:30pm.
Sampler admission gives you access to events both indoors and outdoors at the Trade Center: shopping in the Marketplace (vendors with dance shoes, musical instruments, traditional crafts, and more!), Dance Performances from around the world, and a Family Activities Area. You are welcome to enjoy a snack or a meal at the food trucks while you watch the Morris dancing and other ritual dance teams performing outside.
We will gladly upgrade your Sampler tickets to regular Festival tickets on request. Regular Festival tickets give you access to many events happening at the Hotel five minutes up the road, as well as participatory dancing happening in the Trade Center.
Please spread the word to your friends who might want just a taste of NEFFA.

It takes over 300 volunteers to run the Festival. As of this mailing, 76 people have signed up. Can you help? Do you have a friend who can help? Volunteers get to work on a great team, get the inside scoop on how the Festival operates, and, of course, get FREE or reduced price admission!
Volunteer Spotlight: Families
Have a favorite craft or kid-friendly activity to share? The Family Activities Area is looking for some enthusiastic volunteers who like doing projects or activities with children. Lead a weaving activity, create a fabric collage, make clothespin dolls, juggle with scarves - or come up with your own fun project! Materials provided. Parent and child/teen teams are welcome!
Families can work together! There are a lot of jobs that can be done by young people with parental assistance or supervision. During the day on Friday they can hang official NEFFA clocks, put colorful ribbons around the columns in the Trade Center, help set up the Family Activity Center and many other setup tasks. Families can help strike on Sunday evening, and during the Festival they can assist in the Family Activities area.

Group Hotel Room Rate Expires March 23
The Royal Plaza Best Western Hotel rooms for NEFFA booked up quickly, and they have been sold out for several weeks now. Our event room rate expires at the Best Western on March 23, and after that date, if someone cancels a room, even if it is rebooked (at whatever the current “market rate” is—certainly more expensive), NEFFA will not get “credit” for that reservation in our room block. We want the Hotel as full of NEFFA folks as possible, so please consider the following:
If you have booked a room at the Royal Plaza Best Western for NEFFA, and your plans have changed, so that you know you won’t need a room, please cancel your reservation now, so that someone else can book the room at NEFFA’s group rate before March 23.
If you want to book a room at the Hotel, keep an eye on the Best Western booking link on the NEFFA Lodging Page, and you might get lucky and catch a room someone cancels. (The Hotel does not keep a waiting list. NEFFA does not have an official waiting list, although we can sometimes help facilitate room transfers, so it’s worth being in touch if you’re wanting a room.)
If you find you need to cancel a reservation after March 23, if you have friends who can use the room, reservations are transferable, so please pass the reservation along if you can, rather than canceling. Information on how to do that will be posted on the NEFFA Lodging Page on March 23.
There are still rooms available at the nearby Hampton Inn. Rooms are more expensive than at the Royal Plaza, but it is very convenient. Act quickly, as that group rate expires March 27.
There are also many other hotels nearby, but you’re on your own with those!
