Best Tools for Editing Bash Scripts

I'm editing (FreeBSD/FreeNAS) bash scripts in BBEdit (11.5.2) and hoping to find ways to augment the included "Unix Script" language selection.

For example, I'd like to add these capabilities:

- Code Folding

- Finding function and variable declarations

Is there any way to make BBEdit more bash-friendly (apart from writing my own Language Module)?
