BBEdit in Split View

Hi,

Am I doing something wrong if I cannot get BBEdit windows into Split View (the Mac OS standard split view)? Or is this a bug in 10.11.4 betas, or the latest BBEdit 11.5.1 beta?

I think I am doing what it says here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204948

Or probably more directly: I can easily get other apps into split view, e.g. Messages. BBEdit does support 10.11 El Capitan, and I think BBEdit is meant to support Split View as the official help says  Apps that don't support Split View at all show a zoom button instead of a full-screen button . BBedit has the latter, of course.

FWIW, for "bbedit split view", BBEdit Feature Tour was and remains the #1 hit for me, I checked that out, and convinced/fool myself that the discussion is about "Open and edit a single document in more than one window", I did not properly check the FAQ after that, true.

I still don't get why or how this is an OS X problem when BBEdit is the ONLY app, so far, where this doesn't work. ALL of the other text editors that I've tried, Atom, TextMate, Sublime, Coda... I'm really used to BBEdit, but I now use TextMate, whenever I need Split View and, as I get more used to it, I am using it for more too. Bare Bones please get this figured out soon!

I seem to be coming in late on this thread. I'm able to use split view just fine on El Capitan, unless there's some other split view I'm unaware of (probably). What am I missing?

We're using application frameworks that Apple hasn't yet updated
to support Split View.

We have filed a formal bug report against the OS about this
behavior, since everyone expects Split View to work, but it
doesn't, and there is nothing we can do on the application side
to make it work.

In other words, it's not a bug in BBEdit, there's nothing for us
to "figure out", and it's all in Apple's hands at this point.

The more duplicate bug reports they receive from customers, the
more likely it is that they will make the necessary fixes so
that Split View works as it should.
