License code entered automatically?!?

[BBEdit Talk]

I'm just curious about how the hell this works.

I bought an upgrade from ver. 12 on my desktop iMac.

I then downloaded, installed and opened BBEdit 14 on my brand-new MacBook.

When I clicked BBEdit > License, the serial number was already there.

The hell?  Did BBEdit get info from my Library folder, check my license state with the server, and then automatically enter it?

If you copied your serial number from the web page or confirmation email, the "Enter License" command will pick it up from the clipboard.
