Good afternoon,
We're working on some pretty interesting (to me, anyway) new features in
BBEdit, with improvements in the following areas:
- Language services (completion, "Find Definition" and relatives);
- Additional built-in languages (previously mentioned here);
- (mini)conda virtual environments (also previously mentioned here);
- improving the quality of life of folks for whom "untitled text 3592"
is a thing
...and one or two other things that I won't disclose here, but you can
read about them in the change notes once you join the beta program.
The betas are stable and intended for daily use; we know you have work
to do and the goal is to help you be more productive when using BBEdit.
You won't have to do much: try out the new stuff, report anything that
looks like a bug or misfeature, send in any requests for refinements to
what's been added, and install beta updates when we roll them out.
If this interests you and you'd like to try out the new goodies before
anyone else, send an email to <
sup...@barebones.com>. We're running a
private Slack workspace for the beta program and will send you an
invite.
Enjoy,
R.

Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.
