Have you checked passive mode on ftp?

There is a system-wide setting in network preferences, but some ftp software uses their own setting. Not sure what BBEdit does, but I suspect it uses the system-wide setting.

It has nothing to do with my server, because I can acces my server with other ftp-software, such as Fetch and Gusto.

For completeness, BBEdit's FTP support works independently of the OS settings.

Good to know, so the system setting for passive FTP would not help you. And according to http://www.svn.net/helpdesk/mac/macOSerrors.html you are getting a timeout error:

-3259 kETIMEDOUTErr

Does BBEdit default to passive FTP support?

As Franois mentioned earlier, I also suspect something (perhaps a
firewall) is interfering with passive FTP connections from your office
location.

Thus, I recommend you switch to connecting via SFTP instead of FTP, which
should avoid that issue and will give you a secure connection into the
bargain. :-)
