I suggest you restart your Mac at the next convenient
opportunity, then try this:
Fully delete the existing BBEdit app by moving it to the
Finder's Trash, and emptying the Trash.
Next, open the App Store app and reinstall BBEdit.
Finally, launch BBEdit and if it opens normally, you should be
all set; if not, please contact Apple support for assistance,
since something's likely amiss with the App Store on your Mac.

sup...@barebones.com> though our ability to troubleshoot
App Store install issues is fairly limited.)
