I'm new to (and loving) BBE but wonder what I'm missing with regard to one aspect.

I use dark background colors when editing but this makes the BBE pointer (which as near as I can tell is always black and can't be color-adjusted) very hard to see.

What do you fellow dark-background-users do about that? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm overlooking?

I am wondering the same exact thing. Any color scheme with a dark
background makes the I-bar pointer nearly impossible to see / find.
Maybe there should be an option to change the I-bar color AND
thickness? That would help immensely.

Thanks!

I also have to agree on this one. I have used a dark background
for a long time, but just noticed this after upgrading to BBEdit
10 (or Lion) and it seems that something has changed. At first I
thought that it was caused by a different display, but seems to
be something else then.

Best,
Holger

In system preferences => Accessibility (is that the current name?) there is an option to make the Ouse cursor larger. I find that on my displays increasing the size two or three notches makes the cursor a lot more usable across the entire system.

I haven't noticed too much trouble with BBEdit's I-beam cursor on a medium dark ish background, so maybe that is why.

Same issue here, but I think it's due to Lion, since I have the same problem in other IDE with black background.

And it seems that 10.7.1 didn't fix the problem.

I've already done both (i.e. lightened background and enlarged
pointer) to make BBE usable but it's hardly a desirable solution.

So, I take it then that BBE doesn't address this issue yet?

One possible fix for the dev to consider is making the pointer
automagically change to a lighter color when the background is dark,
much as Smultron and other editors do.

Yet? Let's see, this came up on the this discussion group about
five days ago. Have you actually made a request to BBEdit
support? Has anyone else?
