How does this setting work? I've changed it to "Window witdh" but it
doesn't appear to change how the soft wrap in the editing window works
- it still wraps to the white page guide area.

What I want is for it to only wrap when the text gets to the edge of
the editing window so if I resize the editing window the text unwraps.
This is how TextMate works and I MUCH prefer it.

Are you testing on an old document that you’ve already have had open in BBEdit? If so, BBEdit has probably kept per-document-settings for this. You can change each document’s setting via Edit -> Text Options…

When I try it out with a new document, the global setting works as expected.

Kind regards,

Don't know exactly what happened - but it's now working after a
reboot. Strange...
