BBScriptRunnerXPCService dialog when saving to privileged location

I've recently upgraded to v13.0.4 but have always had this problem with v12, as well.

Whenever I try to save my /etc/hosts file, there is an additional authentication dialog from BBScriptRunnerXPCService that doesn't seem to do anything. I can either provide a valid login/password or not. Either way I get a 2nd dialog asking for a login/password to save to a privileged location, and it works regardless of what's entered in the XPC dialog.

Is there some way to stop the XPC dialog from appearing since it doesn't seem to be needed?

Other details:

- etc/hosts is owned by root:wheel.

- I've tried having BBEdit owned by colin:admin and root:wheel but the extra dialog appears anyway.
