When is a large text file too large for the BBEdit Preview?

To an existing textfile (with linked images) for the web, I'm adding repeatedly new content.

Recently the Preview renders the top of the file, but no more.

Safari is fine, displays everything.

The file has 83KB.

What's going on here?

Have you checked syntax (Markup -> Check -> Document Syntax)?

Safari can be more forgiving than BBEdit.

There was one </p> instead of a <br>, that's all.

What helped was to toggle the Preview.
