I have a bunch of .txt files with snippets of code in them that I need to copy and paste into  a single separate file. Is there a way to copy the contents of multiple files at once with BBEDIT?

Much appreciated

I suggest you start by trying Edit -> Insert -> File Contents... to see if that does what you need.

Just chiming in here to say geez, you guys are brilliant (in case you don't hear it enough). Great to be reminded occasionally of just how flexible and powerful -- and user-friendly -- BBEdit can be (assuming you like texty things a lot).

BBEdit's been open daily on my machine for 25 years and, like my brain, I've only tapped a smidge of its potential. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely agreed - its doing wonders for helping cut down time on repetitive tasks that I do for work. For this task alone what used to take 30 strokes/mouse clicks to achieve now takes me maybe 5. Multiply that by the hundreds of times I have to do it per week....Its an absolute lifesaver. Kudos to everyone on the BBEdit team.

I tried this and found I needed to check/click on multiple individual files within a folder to accomplish the concatenation.

Is there a way to just indicate the enclosing folder so all enclosed are concatenated?

Not as such, though you can navigate into the desired folder and use Command-A to select all the files it contains.

Although a solution already has been given, I just wanted to add another way.

In BBEdit's Text menu you'll find "Run Unix Command…"
Just insert "cat - /path/to/your/folder/*" and it will insert all file contents from that folder into your current text document.

Hey All - Thanks to the suggestions everyone gave. On the off chance someone is looking for an even quicker solution. I've just discovered you can simply drag and drop your desired files into an edit window and it will paste all the contents in. Perhaps this may not be a solution for everyone but it works well for my application! Also in the off chacne you are copying/pasting into something like JSFiddle - you can drag and drop straight into that and it will paste the contents. Probably shouldve figured that one out sooner.
