Hello Brooklyn Bridge CSA,

We have some important and exciting information for you about the upcoming CSA season:
  1. The Brooklyn Bridge CSA is definitely happening for summer-fall 2011. Stay tuned for sign-up details--we'll be sending out more info on pricing, registration deadlines, and share types in February. Start saving money for your share now!
  2. Don't worry: Members from the 2010 season are guaranteed a spot for the 2011 season.
  3. Please spread the word about our CSA to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and your local community--school, work, volunteer groups--anyone! We really want to build our CSA community this year and it starts with you. Have them email us at  brooklyn...@gmail.com if they are interested, and we'll add them to our mailing list.
Calling all members! Want to get more involved with the CSA? We're inviting you to become part of our volunteer core group.

We're about 10 volunteers strong, and together, we help run the CSA. As volunteers, we don't get paid, but we each bring our strengths and passions to the table to make sure the CSA is everything it can be: delicious, informative, community-oriented, and focused on justice and access to all.

But you can help us make it better! We currently have several open positions on the core group, including:
  • Treasurer (duties are mostly over by the time the CSA starts)
  • Website manager/updater (we use Google sites; no coding knowledge necessary!)
  • Shift set-up supervisors and clean-up supervisors: coordinating either the set-up or the clean-up of several pickups during the season
  • Distribution Coordinator: organizing fun things to do at the pickup: food prep demonstrations? recipe samples? handing out recipe cards? getting local Brooklyn food vendors to come and sell their wares? it's up to you.
  • Programming Committee Members: Sasha, the head of our programming committee, would love to build a team to organize events for our CSA throughout the season.
If you're interested in joining us by taking on any of the above positions, email us at brooklyn...@gmail.com. Have an idea that's not on this list? Share it with us and we'll figure out a way for you to contribute your passion and skills to the CSA.

Again, stay tuned for a more detailed update about registration, share prices, and more in February.

Wishing you the best for a healthy and delicious winter,

The Brooklyn Bridge CSA Core Group
