Just so that folks are aware - Arvind Ganesh won't be in BLR during the April race.

 

I will handle the manual timing. But, if we want automated timing too then we need to arrange for Apple/Android devices and Race Splitter app etc.

 

Flagging this from now so there ample time to plan ahead.

So, on the timing front:

a) we need to buy 4 new CR2032 batteries. 

b) we need to do it mostly manual mode

Question: Is it okay to assume that the race in April will be a road race WITHOUT laps? Coz laps on a non-crit road race are very difficult to time. Last year Stonehill was a timekeepers nightmare.

Agree with Vasu.
Its fine to have a loop (i.e. finish point meets start point) but multiple laps is bad idea.

Any idea what is the distance we are looking at ? I know Team Naesar is working on it, but did we suggest some distance to them?

Yup, I'm out. Vasu, Marghoob, Anil from the timing team are all expected to be present for the race though.  

Rohan, you still have that iPhone you were using before you got the Nexus? I think we can put RaceSplitter on that. Or on Marghoob's iPhone.

PS: Does anyone have any contacts at NICE? Suntosh is trying to contact Bhaskar Rao to see if we can get permissions to race on NICE road, any other leads would add value. Please let us know.

Any updates on this. I remember seeing something about recce being completed over the weekend etc. Where was the route. What distance?

Kavitha had sent a couple of gpx files of the route and I know Santhosh met her once.
