Hey guys,

Curious to know who is running Bangalore Amateur Racing?

Our team and cw for now. The idea is to get more races with out involving the pros. No prizes, registration fees or anything. Idea is to keep it lean and fun. Get there, race and go home. Might time or use self timing. Amateurish.. Gonna try and see how it goes.

Venky, you are fast here as well & beat me in replying.
Modi, non of BAR races will conflict with BBCh races as we want to race there too.
As of now all BAR races are road races for roadie scums.

My 1/2 cent

For an outsider it looks like there is another racing platform created because people aren't Happy. This might or might not be the case.

There will be a lot of things spoken about and compared with. The fun begins!

This started from the discussion in BZ. I know not many would have read it. Rohan buddy had replied to that post. So I assume he is aware at least.

Been meaning to reply to this thread for ages. 

BAR is a great idea. I hope this will spur BBCh to get better as it is a massive beast at the moment that needs a lot of love and managing. Only thing that would suck is if folks stopping giving BBCh feedback on what is needed to get better. 

Lemme know how I can help with BAR. We are trying to get media support for BBCh/Racing and am going plugging in BAR there too. Not sure how much of it will translate to print.

Naveen John was telling me of this idea which he had pitched to Venky sometime back. Had also wanted to passon info on how to handle the handicap system of racing better. He has been running this at his school before he came to India. Venkat, reach out to him if he has not already done so.

Yup, quite a while back, NJ is the one who introduced me to the concept of handicap system and shared a few documents they used to use when they were running this at Purdue CC. That was the impetus behind the idea and those resources he shared have been a big help to get this idea up and running. Yup, I intend to chat up with him to get more inputs on the handicap system.

Re, publicity, at the moment keeping BAR out of any mass scale publicity is better, since we don't want this too to become a beast that needs a lot of love and managing. :)

Feedback to BBCh will keep on coming as long as it is welcome! No doubts there.

From actively driving BBCh over the last 5 years - its not the number of riders which make it a beast. Thats the fun bit :) 

Its looking into the future and moulding something that needs to go somewhere that makes it a beast. More 'beastier' with a lot of nay sayers.

Will keep BAR out of writeups. Lemme know if I can be of any help.
