To all member State/ Affiliated Units,

This has come to our notice that there is mushroom growth of various cycling clubs in India, who are working for their personal interest and not propagating the mission of the promotion of cycling in the Country.

Of course the Federation is seriously planning to regulate the club system and would like to share the thought with all of you before framing a policy and would invite your suggestions for the format and working system of various clubs. The project paper on this will be circulated to you in due course.

In the meantime, till we formulate a policy please ensure that all the licensed cyclists of your State/ Unit, who tend to join these clubs should seek permission from the Federation through their respective states and units. This will help the Federation to oversee the interest of the cyclists and Federation will also ensure that the clubs do not exploit the cyclists at the cost of their carrier as well as Federation can monitor the same.

Please ensure that this is strictly adhere to, so as to save the interest of cyclists and to maintain the supremacy of the Federation in the affairs of the Cycling in the Country.

Few folks = loaaaads across India at this point :) Have been hearing stories about some of the cyclothons etc from Naveen yesterday!

Lots of folks tend to use x...@gmail.com man.

Since telephone numbers are mentioned, we can check the authenticity of the email by calling them & verifying the number in directory.

The whole thing is so vague. I could only gather that someone at CFI is worried that they might be obsolete if the current state of affairs continues. Does this really change anything?

humm .. I didnt think so but wanted to know what others on this forum think too.

The caveat is that I have not raced at a level to be affected by CFI. But the folks who do dont seem to appreciate the way its run/executed and think this is an indication that they are up to no good.

Very few folks in the country got this email and am not sure if more 'clubs' need to know about this or not. While I respect free access to knowledge I think it causes more harm than good.
