I wanted to put it out there what I've observed at the race before I forget.

Bananas and ORS were missing at the aid station/registration. They would be a real blessing for someone who raced hard. (Not like me but like Richard :) )

Also the water and the biscuits at the registration desk would have been more useful at the finish line.

Marking is always an iffy thing in such a long trail. We've already discussed this.

Just feedback. Not cribbing. ;)

Yup - we had 80 bananas that were sitting at BOTS cause they were not loaded into the car. A mistake.
ORS - we need to create a checklist and have someone on it so that we dont miss it again.

Would be good to have the food after the finish line - totally agree!

Shorter trail is something that I took back as feedback. This is something we 'learnt' the prev endurance race, but kinda forgot the pain of marking/racing I think.

Other feedback that I had
- identify critical points where issues can occur and hence position marshals (like the shotcut point)
- recee team identify marshall points before race day
- volunteering celebrated a lot more - I wish we could do more for folks who volunteer at our races

What was kickass at this race
+ aid station (except that we missed the bananas and ORS)
+ registration was super clean and super organized
+ pre-race and post race announcements
+ we almost started on time

:) The greatest plans always get messed up.

Guess loading a car with all the stuff at 5am in the morning is bound to have issues. We were thinking maybe we should load up the cars the prev day next race onwards! Kinda tricky though.

We have to assign one person who is dedicated for checking on all the necessaries that are required for the race.
He/she will have the list of things that are to be carried to the race venue and will be checked as and when the materials are loaded in to the vehicle.

Hopefully that solves the problem :)

It used to be that way. One person responsible for food, he/she gets it , what happenned?

Chiddu,
Previously i use to get the bananas. My jute bag was quite famous as folks use to associate it to bananas location :)
It was getting bit difficult to hunt for good ready state bananas in that quantity as i had to take my wife or mom to select :)
I use to keep it near the main door at morning so that i dont forget it.
Dont like the idea of storing eatables in car overnight etc. mainly for hygiene purpose.

Rgds,
Nalla.

Guess it is time to go old fashioned - get a clipboard and write a checklist on paper. Tick off stuff as they are put in the car etc.

This is just a question of putting a process in place and fine tuning it. By now stuff like this should work like assembly line production. We have bigger things to worry about :)

Yup, that's why I prefer to go bananas. ;-)
