Richard,

I personally also much prefer a forum over a Yahoo or Google format, and I also would much prefer a *single* focal point for all BB4W discussions. I therefore suggest making bbcbasic.conforums.com (the pink one) as that focal point. All future discussions would then take place there.

To make things clear to readers, I also propose you create a special, read-only, forum called "REFERENCE" at the top of the "General" pink forum, setting out all the reference material that people need for BB4W. Something like the following maybe:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTRODUCTION TO BB4W SOURCE MATERIAL
=======================================
OLD DISCUSSION GROUPS: *READ ONLY*. These platforms no longer accept input, but are retained on-line for future reference.
========================================================
The "Old Brown Conforum": bb4w.conforums.com/index.cgi
BB4W Yahoo Group: groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/bb4w
Groups.IO: groups.io/g/bb4w
Google Group: groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bb4w
Wiggio: wiggio.com/#tpl=home_0
CURRENT DISCUSSION GROUP (The only one now)
===========================================
The "New Pink Forum": bbcbasic.conforums.com/ (This forum)
CURRENT REFERENCE MATERIAL:
============================
BB4W Manual: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/manual/index.html
BB4W Programmers' Reference: bb4w.wikispaces.com
BB4W Download Site: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/download.html
BB4W For Windows (Introduction): bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/bbcwin.html
Beginners' Tutorial: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/tutorial/index.html
FAQs: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/faq.html
Example Programs: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/examples/index.html
History of BBC Basic: bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcbasic/history.html
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am suggesting you *keep* the OLD MATERIAL on line, because it contains a wealth of very useful information, (far too valuable to be scrapped). Just forbid any future posting to those forums/groups.

Just a thought.
