Dear Aligs,
Assalamualekum !

We are happy to inform you that a team of AMU Engineering college students has been selected to represent AMU in showcasing their designed and fabricated Formula Racing Car at the international Formula Student event organized by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers to be held at Silverstone, United Kingdom in 2016. Around 3000 students, 120 teams from around the world design, build, test, and race a small-scale formula style racing car at the event. This would be the third year of participation by the AMU Engineering College. In first year of its participation AMU secured 60thposition and in second year it reached to 19th position.

The AMU team has already competed at the national level in India and has won the ‘Most Popular Formula Car Award’ at the Formula Student-India event held in 2015.

“Unme Josh Hai, Lagan hai aur kuch karne ka jazba hai, who Duniya ko Apni muthi mien karne ka hosla Rakhte hain”

However to accomplish this task the team needs financial and material support. They have a budget of 20 lacs . They have generated around 10 lacs from some corporate sponsors and alumni organization based in India and US but are struggling for the remaining funds.

AMU Alumni Jeddah would like to support these youngsters for surfacing this ambitious project.  We approached the AMU Pro VC to support the Engineering students financially for the project and we were informed that university does not have any special budgets to fund such assignments. However since time is running short we decided to support the students. We feel that by supporting ZHCET students in this project AMU Jeddah Alumni will maintain a positive relationship and a status of role model for the current students of the university. This is one excellent way to mentor the engineering students for a prestigious project.
