Hey all,

The documentation page at https://docs.bazel.build/versions/5.1.0/bazel-container.html refers to a docker image at l.gcr.io/google/bazel:latest that can be used to build stuff with bazel. I've been using it in continuous integration tests on my GitHub projects for the last couple years.

It turns out that the last image tagged "latest" is from September 2020 and contains bazel 3.5.0, though: https://console.cloud.google.com/gcr/images/cloud-marketplace-containers/global/google/bazel

I finally upgraded to some rules_go that needed a newer bazel version and noticed that this stuff was old.

Why did you stop building these images? Is there a replacement? I really don't want to have to build my own docker image with bazel in it for my CircleCI tests.

Thanks,
Chris

https://github.com/bazelbuild/continuous-integration/issues/1060 is the issue for this.
Thulio from Aspect contributed the dockerfile but it looks like we're still waiting on Yun to do the next step: https://github.com/bazelbuild/continuous-integration/pull/1290#issuecomment-1024013966
