Hi all,

we rely on rules_docker (i know it's deprecated) to build our images via bazel. However, starting today, we're noticing 403's being thrown when trying to download:

is anyone experiencing this? Is this known? Has this resource been deleted or turned private?

It's definitely being felt by more people: https://github.com/bazelbuild/rules_docker/issues/2291
No idea if anyone who could make it accessible again is aware or trying to fix it universally

im hoping this was a mistake and not intentionally done without any warning given the amount of folks that still rely on rules_docker.

Hi folks,

Update from the Bazel Team: the permission issue that was the source of the 403s has been fixed. Apologies!

I would strongly encourage teams that continue to rely on rules_docker to migrate to rules_oci or rules_img, since we're only able to offer very limited support for rules_docker.
