I will be forking and working to revamp this rule set.

Are you open to unarchiving it and migrating it to the bazel-contrib organization?

I'm not seeing much valuable history to preserve in bazelbuild/rules_groovy.  Can you just fork it and polish it to meet the standards in https://bazel-contrib.github.io/SIG-rules-authors/hosting-policy.html?

Then maybe we can move your fork to bazel-contrib?

Even better, perhaps, would be to start from the bazel-contrib/rules-template so you have the most current recommendations, then port any useful bits from rules_groovy.
